Sykline Camping

We had another first this October, our first camping trip.  Neither B nor I had ever been "camping-camping" and slept in a tent.  I still remember the first time I visited B at his parent's house just after college for his graduation party when somehow the conversation turned to camping.  A neighbor informed me that the E's version of camping isnt really camping at all- unless its at the Atlantis.  Which is one part true and two parts hysterical.  It still makes me laugh thinking of that day! 

Well thanks to our very outdoorsy, very patient friends the Logans, we changed that this year! Our whole family camped out, ate chili dogs, mac and beans for dinner with s'mores for dessert over the campfire.  We had big plans for a bacon/ egg breakfast and hike for Sunday morning, but unfortunately due to the pouring rain that part of the plan fell apart.  At least it was gorgeous weather on Saturday when we got there.

Before joining Taylor & Luke at the campsite we enjoyed the drive around Skyline and stopped to take some shots with the gorgeous views.

We had such a great time! Even Tucker was a champ- we learned he will totally protect us from strangers if the need ever arises.  Thanks to Luke we never went hungry or got cold.  Our camera battery died quickly upon arrival to the campsite, but we still got a few shots in before the sun went down.  I'm bummed we never got any campsite neighbors to take a group one for us, guess we'll have to do that one next year!
